It only took about 60 seconds after landing at Nashville’s Belmont University for budding singer/songwriter Abby Brown’s musical future to be gracefully inspired by local icons like Emmy Lou Harris, Alison Krauss, The Dixie Chicks, Sheryl Crow and other prominent influences like Carole King, Stevie Nicks and Bonnie Raitt.
Abby is seen as an “old soul with a young heart” who connects with her listeners through catchy melodies, authentic lyrics and a truly one-of-kind vocal presence.
Whether you’re 12 or 92, there’s bound to be a time that Abby’s music, as Emmylou Harris has been known to say, “melts your butter.”
Abby’s music is described as:
Americana-flavored for all ages
Easy listening and approachable
Introspective and dreamy
Both warm and heartbreaking
Gypsy Soul, Abby’s debut EP on the Pure Music Nashville label, is due out in November, 2018. It’s produced by Nashville-based bassist John Heithaus and features notables like David Santos (CSN, Billy Joel, Melissa Etheridge), guitar maven JD Simo, keys man Billy Nobel (Faith Hill & Tim McGraw), the superb vocalist Wendy Moten (Vince Gill, Faith Hill) and Abby’s lead vocals are complimented by her acoustic guitar and natural harmonies.
